An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
